Our brief was to create a small boutique hotel with restaurant and bar facilities within the woodland setting in Harbeldown, Canterbury, Kent, while maintaining the loose, courtyard type, farmstead feel of the existing built structure on site while maximising the elevated views over the surrounding countryside.

The site is less than 3 miles from Canterbury’s historic city centre. The hotel will adjoin over 5 acres of oak woodlands stretching into the ancient Blean Forest, which is the oldest existing natural forest in England.
