Our brief was to create a new entrance over the river into the centre of the restaurant and amend the internal layout to achieve an open plan environment allowing the customers to see their food being prepared and maximise the impact of the feature Italian wood burning oven, provide new sanitary facilities for staff and customers and provide an external seating area to allow guests to dine on the patio overlooking the tranquil river Stour in Canterbury.
Upstairs is an open plan banqueting facility for weddings and conferencing with all the original oak posts and beams remaining untouched. The building is Grade 2 listed and has undergone a tasteful refit respecting the original fabric and structure of the former wool store.
